This speculative project explores a compact barn style dwelling set within the rural landscape of the Mornington Peninsula. Drawing on local vernacular traditions, the design reinterprets familiar agricultural forms through a contemporary lens, using honest, durable materials that weather and age gracefully. A restrained palette of timber, metal, and masonry grounds the house in its setting, while simple volumes and carefully framed openings create a calm, light-filled interior that balances utility, comfort, and a strong connection to place.
